Female Program

Our female program focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of Menopause, Somatopause, and Thyroid disease. We begin with a comprehensive health history and physical exam as well as a complete laboratory evaluation of hormone levels. At PreGen Health Institute we aim to restore hormone imbalances to a normal, healthy level; we never supplement with the goal of reaching supra-physiologic levels. Only those with hormonal imbalance qualify for the treatment plan.

Women are much more complex than men with hormone replacement therapy. It is not unusual for it to take up to 6 months to find the right balance. Remember, many women have been out of balance with their hormones for many years prior to beginning treatment, and levels are not restored to a healthy level overnight. We recommend that our female clients remain patient, be diligent about sticking to the program and communicate to the PreGen staff any unusual changes they observe while we are adjusting hormone levels.

Balancing hormones can be compared to a symphony … each player must be in tune for the orchestra to sound beautiful! This includes balancing female hormones, male hormones (yes, ladies you have them!), thyroid, adrenals and nutritional support.

Like all of our programs we incorporate healthy nutrition, exercise and a customized vitamin regimen into your treatment plan.

Menopause

Menopause

Menopause is defined as the absence of a menstrual cycle for 12 consecutive months. The average female goes through the change of menopause somewhere between the age of 35 and 55, but it is possible to experience symptoms for up to 15 years prior to this.

The symptoms of menopause are many and can include (but are not limited to):

It is imperative that women continue to receive routine health assessments from their primary care providers including mammograms, pelvic/pap smears and breast exams. This is required as part of the PreGen Health program.

How Do We Treat Menopause?

This is a complex question. Treatment will vary with each individual, but many times will consist of:

Many women have fears and questions about hormone replacement therapy and the risk of breast cancer and heart disease. Please refer to our FAQ page for more information, or visit www.worldhealth.net.

Somatopause

Somatopause

Somatopause is also known as Adult Growth Hormone Deficiency. Diagnosis is made based on symptoms, physical exam as well as laboratory testing. Signs & symptoms include (but are not limited to):

Growth hormone peaks at puberty and begins to decline around the age of 21, and almost all women over the age of 40 have a Growth Hormone Deficit.

Somatopause is typically treated with injections of growth hormone with close monitoring of resolution of symptoms, side effects and laboratory values to ensure levels are maintained at a safe and appropriate level.

Hypothyroidism

Thyroid hormone is one of THE most important metabolic hormones in our bodies, and it begins to decline in most people around the age of 40 and beyond. Many people experience a decline earlier.

It is estimated that 15-25% of Americans suffer from subclinical hypothyroidism and suffer from symptoms unnecessarily because traditional health care providers fail to recognize it and base treatment on lab values alone.

Major signs of deficiency include (but are not limited to):

There are many major illnesses/diseases associated with hypothyroidism, including:

How is hypothyroidism diagnosed and treated?

A comprehensive health history is reviewed and physical exam is performed. We check appropriate serum laboratory values and correlate to your symptoms before a diagnosis is made.

Our policy is to treat with bioidentical thyroid hormone and monitor for improvement in symptoms as well as lab values. Most people begin to experience improvement in symptoms within 2-3 weeks after beginning a program.

Menopause doesn't have to be something to "suffer" through! For more information please refer to our FAQ page, education page, or contact us at 1-877-6PREGEN (1-877-677-3436).
